FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS

Can I show episodes of The Chosen in my church, small group, or other live events?

Yep! By signing up here, you are granted a free license to show The Chosen for non-commercial purposes. You are welcome to:

  • show full episodes from the mobile or web app at any in-person events (but no livestreaming)
  • show and even livestream clips during services or ministry events (and these can be streamed and remain on your YouTube or Facebook pages, because they only feature clips)

You are not permitted to:

  • charge admission or sell tickets (because we want The Chosen to always be available for free)
  • upload full episodes to your platforms, social media, YouTube, apps, or websites

One final note: your free license remains valid while you have an active account.

Can I host a Chosen ‘watch party’ with others?

You can host a watch party as long as (1) it’s free, and (2) you don’t stream or upload full episodes to any of your ministerial or personal platforms. We also ask that you share with your audience that they can watch full episodes for free at watch.thechosen.tv. And don’t forget: if you want to talk about the show when the last credit rolls, we have free discussion guides over in our resource hub for every episode!

Can I show The Chosen in prisons?

We would love for you to! In fact, our friends at Prison Fellowship work closely with U.S. prisons to make episodes of The Chosen available for screening, providing helpful discipleship resources designed specifically for carceral communities. And how about this? Prison Fellowship International is working tirelessly to get The Chosen into as many prisons as possible around the world.

Can my church or ministry show The Chosen in a movie theater?

Possibly. There are a few licensing considerations that have to be made—particularly that the screening has to be free—so please reach out to us directly at licensing@comeandseefoundation.org, and we’ll explore options with you.

Can I share video clips of The Chosen?

Absolutely! All we ask is that you don’t stream or upload full episodes to any of your personal (or ministerial) platforms and that you share with your audience that they can watch full episodes for free at watch.thechosen.tv. And hey: you might want to just go ahead and sign up for a free license. Not only will you get the license itself, you’ll also gain access to all the free clips and other resources in our Digital Resource Library.

Can I share clips from The Chosen on social media?

We love it when clips from the show are shared, so have at it! We just ask that you don’t edit or create other content around them.

What do I need to do if I want to show clips from The Chosen, and it will appear on a livestream—like YouTube or Facebook Live?

Sign up here for a free license (and access to clips and other resources from our Digital Resource Library). Be sure to add all of your livestream URLs, so that you don’t run into any copyright issues that could result in streaming interruption. We also ask that you don’t charge people to watch The Chosen and that you share with your audience that they can watch full episodes for free at watch.thechosen.tv. Oh! And speaking of episodes: full episodes of The Chosen are not permitted to be livestreamed.

Can I create small group curriculum or other resources using content from The Chosen?

\Before you take that on yourself, be sure to check out alllll the free material that’s already available in our resource hub! What you’re looking for might already be right under your nose. Can I use photos from The Chosen for a Bible study or an event at my church?

You can totally use our pictures to promote Chosen-related content. But—they cannot be used to promote non-related content, nor can they be used in a “for profit” manner in any form. (We’re all about free, you know?)

Can I play music from the show at my church?

Oooooh. We love that! You’re more than welcome to use songs from the show during your church serviceas long as you’re (1) not charging anyone to listen to it or (2) selling it.

Can I use music from The Chosen for my own project?

Again, loving your passion for the show. But Chosen music cannot be used to promote productions other than The Chosen.

Can I sell Chosen products?

Look: we love the support, but unfortunately, we cannot allow it. We have partnerships to honor with regard to the creation and sales of Chosen gear.

Can I sell fan art of The Chosen?

This one is related to the previous question about Chosen products: while we so appreciate your dedication to the show, we don’t allow others to create and sell art, gifts, and other materials with Chosen branding on it. But here’s some good news: there’s a ton of great gifts over at thechosengifts.com that you (and all our fans) can purchase to support the show!

Can I license Chosen content for use in apps or interactive media — such as games or interactive exhibits?

Seriously we’re so honored and humbled by your passion for The Chosen. Buuuuut unfortunately, you can’t license Chosen content for use in apps or interactive media (like games).
