”Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

- Jesus, Matthew 17:20

More than twenty years ago, I found myself in a downpour. Looking through a flooded windshield and tear-filled eyes, I asked God for something seemingly impossible: to move a personal, reality-crushing mountain that was both spiritual and physical. Even as I reflect on this moment and the moments that unfolded just after it, I can now genuinely share that I am able to smile. You likely know why; it’s because of the joy that has resulted from being graciously brought to my knees to seek God in prayer, and to abide in him in the midst of waiting.

Like you, I have seen time and again what happens when we earnestly seek our Father God. More often than not, he allows faith-defining events, trials, and—yes—victories, to reignite us, to remind us of the power of prayer.

Recently I was reminded again of the power of prayer—the significance of mountain-moving moments and how God chooses to use them to get our attention for his purposes and his will. I’m thinking of when Dallas shared how he earnestly sought God after being devastated with the release of his then recent film project—the season just before The Chosen became a reality. As I listened to Dallas, I couldn’t help but respond with empathy, and as his story continued—when he shared how God’s provision and path for him and his work with The Chosen became clear—I boldly and joyfully cried out loud, “Only God!”

I am grateful for God’s desire to know us, to hear our requests, to receive our praise—and that we get to know more of who he is in the process. And I want you to know that  we’re at another mountain-top moment, and we have an opportunity to sit with God and give him thanks.

Come and See has seen first-hand the Kingdom impact of The Chosen as it’s been translated into the heart language of people around the globe, and we’re honored to share some recent good news below about our continued efforts to see even more of a global impact. Thank you to everyone on the Prayer Crew for taking time with us to give a heartfelt thank you to God—for who he is, for what he has done through Jesus Christ, and for reminding us that he is in the business of “impossible math” that we have seen through this work through The Chosen and Come and See.

Let’s praise God that:

  • The Chosen has transcended cultural and linguistic barriers, proudly releasing translations in over 50 languagesa feat deserving of praise and gratitude. This achievement reflects not only the series' global appeal, but also its role in spreading the message of Jesus Christ to diverse audiences worldwide. Each translation opens doors for new viewers to experience the life of Jesus in their heart language, making the Gospel accessible and relatable to a broader audience.

  • The newly established Global Advisory Council with Come and See and The Chosen is another significant milestone—a collaborative effort among major Christian organizations like Alpha, YouVersion, CRU, Bible Project, Jesus.net, Jesus Film, ZeWatchers and One Hope. This council is pivotal in creating resources and strategies for distributing The Chosen globally, ensuring that its message reaches the goal of 1 billion people and 600 language translations.

  • The series has become a unifying force among various Christian faiths. Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, Messianic Jews, Coptic Orthodox, and more have found common ground in Jesus Christ’s life as it’s being depicted in The Chosen. It serves as a remarkable example of how the core message of Jesus Christ's life and teachings can bring unity amidst diversity, fostering a sense of community and shared faith across different traditions.

  • The Chosen is more than just a television series; it's a catalyst for spiritual reflection and renewal. Its unique portrayal of Jesus Christ and his ministry invites viewers into a deeper, more intimate understanding of the Gospels. By bringing to life the authentic Jesus and his call to discipleship, the series has encouraged many to open their Bibles and explore the scriptures with renewed interest and understanding. Transformation is only possible when we encounter the authentic Jesus and live out the truth of God’s word, and this breakthrough, made possible by The Chosen, is worthy of our thanks.

As we celebrate the remarkable achievements of this TV series—from its widespread translations to its role in uniting various Christian organizations and expressions—we are reminded of the power of media to touch hearts and minds. The series not only entertains; it educates and inspires, leading viewers on a journey of faith that transcends the screen.

Let’s continue to pray over the global reach of The Chosen, and let’s continue to pray that more and more people will embrace the call to follow Christ, finding purpose and grace in his perfect love and sacrifice for us and in his modeling the pathway to life and life abundant. God is responsible for the “impossible math,” but he is inviting us to walk with him in his work as we approach him through prayer.

And one final word: I thank God for you, for your continued encouragement and prayer for Dallas, his family, The Chosen team, and for everyone serving faithfully with Come and See.

In Christ,

Larry Lundstrom

Global Partnerships
Come and See Foundation

Let’s get to praying! Here’s how you can pray specifically for global partnerships:

  • Give God thanks for his unfailing purpose and his plan of sending Christ for us, accomplishing the work of defeating death so that in him we may have eternal life. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • Praise God for using The Chosen to drive people deeper into his word. Praise God more people know of his son because of the show’s content and Come and See’s partnership with the local church. In Romans 10:14, Paul writes: How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
  • God, we thank you for how much you love us. We are grateful to have a part in how you are using The Chosen and its portrayal of Jesus and the disciples. May you continue to use it, and all those involved in the making of it, for your glory!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

It's an honor to serve as Come and See’s Senior Director of Global Partnerships in our mission to see more people impacted by the story of Jesus as it’s being told through The Chosen. And it’s an honor to meet with you in prayer. What an incredible privilege it is to reflect, to pause and focus on Our Father God and to give thanks for sending His son Jesus Christ. And, isn't it incredible?! We get to work together to invite everyone to Come and See the Authentic Jesus and what it means to live out the call 'to make disciples'. I am grateful for the opportunity to join together in this effort and as we continue to pray for the message of Jesus to reach 1 billion people through The Chosen.
