A Faith That Amazes Jesus
Reflect on the Cross and discover six ways to pray for Season 6.

Scripture describes Jesus as amazed in two instances. And they happen in two strikingly different moments in the Gospels. He marvels at the presence of extraordinary faith—and then again at the absence of it.
Luke 7:9 — “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith!” In this instance, Jesus is amazed by a Roman centurion who recognizes His authority so deeply that he believes a single word from Jesus is enough to heal his servant.
In contrast, you have Mark 6:1–6, the moment Jesus returns to His hometown of Nazareth. While the people recognize His wisdom, they take offense at His familiar identity, and Jesus marvels at their unbelief.
The contrast is remarkable: an outsider amazes Jesus with his trust, while those most familiar with Him amaze Him with their inability to believe.
These stories invite us to consider what happens in the human heart when we encounter Jesus. Will familiarity, assumptions, disappointment, or fear keep us from recognizing Who He is? Or will we approach Him with humble trust—believing that His authority is enough to meet our deepest need?
And that brings us to the Cross. Just as the centurion trusted Jesus without seeing the outcome, Jesus trusted the Father while walking into suffering He knew would cost everything. In Gethsemane, we hear Jesus’s anguish—“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow” (Matthew 26:38)—followed by His surrender: “Not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42).
This is where His story meets ours.
When we behold His suffering, we are invited to believe in the One who trusted the Father completely. His Cross becomes more than something we witness—it becomes an invitation to surrender our own fears, questions, suffering, and need for control. We look at His faithfulness and find courage for our own: “Jesus, I believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.”
As we watch Season 6 of The Chosen, we aren't simply watching a story about suffering and the power of the greatest love outstretched on a Cross. We are invited to behold the suffering of Jesus and ask what His faithfulness awakens in us.
Dallas Jenkins shared, “Season 6 is the season—along with our crucifixion season finale, which is going to be a global theatrical release—where we get into deep, deep issues that we haven’t fully explored in previous seasons.”
As millions encounter Season 6, we invite you to pray with us for those seeing His suffering. May it help them see His love; may seeing His surrender awaken their surrender; may seeing His faithfulness awaken faith in them. May they not simply watch the Cross; may they encounter the One who hung upon it, and find Him worthy of their trust.
So, as we pray for this story to reach millions, we are ultimately praying for something much deeper than reach. We are praying that people would see Jesus. And that, having seen Him, they would respond with the kind of faith that amazes Him.
Please join us in 6 Ways to Pray for Season 6:
1. Pray for catalytic reach: Pray for the over 140,000 churches already registered to host an early screening of Season 6, Episode One. Pray that these churches would become catalysts for millions of additional people to encounter the story of Jesus. Pray especially for Season 6's November 15 launch on Prime Video and the March 2027 app release—for extraordinary favor, visibility, and reach.
2. Pray for courage to behold the Cross: Pray that viewers would have the courage not to look away from Jesus’ suffering. May they be willing to sit with the weight of the Cross—to see His sacrifice, His love, and the cost of our redemption.
3. Pray for grace in the places of sorrow: Pray for an outpouring of grace over Season 6. May the Holy Spirit remind every viewer that no valley is too low, no sin too great, and no darkness beyond His reach. When sorrow comes, may people discover that Jesus is not distant from suffering, but entered it Himself.
4. Pray for hope: Pray that viewers would learn to hold sorrow and hope together. The Cross was devastating, but it was not the end. Pray that those carrying grief, disappointment, or despair would discover that God is still writing a story beyond what they can see.
5. Pray for a faith that yields: Pray that this story would move hearts beyond simply believing about Jesus to trusting Jesus—that people would surrender their plans, questions, pain, and uncertainty and discover the peace of saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
6. Pray for faith that amazes Jesus: Finally, pray for a faith that reaches beyond what can be seen—for a faith like the centurion's: “Just say the word.” And when belief feels difficult, may even the smallest prayer become an invitation: “Jesus, I believe. Help my unbelief.”
May Season 6 not simply move us emotionally, but move us toward Jesus—toward the Cross, toward surrender, toward hope, and toward a faith that delights the heart of the Savior who gave everything for us.
